Drafts save automatically while you write, so leaving a form doesn't lose work — come back to My Content and pick up where you left off.
A draft exists from the moment you open a create form. As you type, the top of the form shows "Creating draft…" and then "All changes saved" — that line is the save indicator, and there's no separate save button. Preview shows the piece the way readers will see it before you publish. On a wide screen, it opens beside the form and updates as you type. Delete removes a draft you don't want. Nothing is visible to readers until you press Publish.
